The Rochebrune ski area is reached by the Rochebrune gondola from the pedestrianised central square of Megeve or by cable car from the Rochebrune station, a five-minute walk up the hill. Down in the town, good eating is easy to come by; both Flocons de Sel and have been awarded multiple Michelin stars. The Evasion skipass also includes nearby Les Contamines km pistes but you would need a car to get there.

Experts have more limited opportunities locally although of course the proximity of the world’s tough skiing mecca – Mont Blanc – means you’re never far from the terrain you want in this category.
